Basalt Standing Stone Columns

The Boulder patch carries a wide variety of Basalt Satnding Stone Columns direct from the quarry. These are sold by the pound or often pieces are hand selected for their unique character and sold at an individual price.

Basalt Standing Stone Columns can be used in the landscape in a wide variety of creative ways. From retaining a garden bed to the largest of water features, these naturally weathered British Columbia Basalt Columns will provide a great deal more natural character than other basalt columns from the Northwest Region of North America. The possibilities in the landscape are limited only to your imagination. Quarried in the Squamish Basin of southwestern British Columbia by Huckleberry Stone Supply (a Division of Northwest Landscape & Stone Supply).

Basalt Columns are sold with or without a sawn bottom. The Sawn Bottom Basalt Columns range in sizing from Small (101 - 250 lbs. in weight), Medium 251 - 500 lbs. in weight), Large (501 - 1500 lbs. in weight), and Extra Large (1500 lbs. + in weight). Whereupon the raw Natural Bottom Basalt Columns are sold by height, with three sizes to choose from Small (3' -5' height), Medium (5' -8' height), and Large (8' + height).

Basalt Columns also provide the raw material to make up sawn Basalt Risers & Tread Risers or Slabs. We offer this unique product in a vast array of thickness' including 2", 3", 4", 5", 6", 7", 8", 9" and custom sizes too! Ideal as Stair Treads and Landings, these products are sold by the square foot. Larger size Basalt Slabs are sold at a premium where dimensions are over 24" wide, or longer than 72" and will be charged about a 20% premium. As an added feature you can have them thermal flamed for a greater slip resistance in wet or icy conditions.

Basalt Slabs are also ideal as Signage Stone for both residential and commercial applications. Typically extra effort is made to remove any residual saw marks (at additional cost) from the cutting process, and honed to a lustrous almost polished finish at our Huckleberry Stone Saw and Processing Plant located off Queens Way directly in the heart of Squamish.

The by-product of the processing of these slabs are a product called Basalt Skins. They feature a weathered outside crust and sawn inside section. Many feature a sawn bottom portion which allows the feature to stand firmly with great stability depending on depth of each particular stone. These Basalt Stand Up Skins are the perfect choice for residential address features at an afforable price point.
